For a better chance at achieving success in most sports, athletes undergo regular training regimens to  develop their physical fitness profile (endurance, speed, power, agility, balance etc) and sport-specific skills to improve their chances of success in games/competition.

Like every sport, basketballers require a unique skill set to help them keep up with the dynamic demands of alternating game paces/opponent sizes, reduce their risk of injury and enhance their overall performance on the court.
